Copyright & Fair Use Policy
Our Approach to Educational Materials
RevisionEngine believes in enhancing education while respecting intellectual property rights. We transform lecture materials into study aids through a process we believe aligns with UK fair dealing principles for educational purposes:
- Transformation: We analyze source materials to create entirely new SBA questions
- Limited Use: Original content is never displayed verbatim to users
- Access Controls: University-specific questions are only visible to verified students
- Year Restrictions: Students can only access content from their current or previous years
Our position is that this approach supports learning while respecting the rights of content creators.
Collaborative Solutions Before Formal Takedowns
We welcome direct dialogue with educational institutions. Rather than proceeding directly to formal takedown notices, we encourage reaching out to discuss tailored solutions:
- Selective Content Management: We can restrict or modify specific portions of content while preserving others
- Custom Release Scheduling: We can implement special timing for content that requires staggered release
- Customized Access Controls: We can add additional restrictions for particularly sensitive teaching materials
Email to discuss these or other collaborative approaches.
